Our Big Cali Year
A big year is roughly a challenge among birders to identify as many species of birds as possible. Our Big Cali Year will be a way to team up with friends to identify all California species as a group! This may seem like it strays a bit from the idea of a biodiversity tool and truthfully it probably does... However, I think it's super fun and you can't stop me :D
Biodiversity Explorer
The real work begins here. We want people to be able to search and explore easily all species of plants and animals in California. To do this we need a master list of all taxonomy. This may seem simple, but there is not just a list laying around of all species that occur here. Our end goal is a search tool that makes it easy to search and explore all species in one place.

Our End Game. We want an image of California that you can click on. The coordinate you click on will then bring up all biodiversity data in a set radius. We also want a Locate Me feature that will simply grab your location and show the data that way.
